South Common Hearing Centre works with four major hearing aid manufacturers, providing entry level to high end hearing aid technology. The level of technology and hearing aid style best suited for each client is dependant on their hearing needs and budget.

It is often said "Prevention is better than the cure". This is accurate when we talk about hearing loss. Our hearing can be affected by recreational activities, our occupation and everyday noises in the environment.
We offer sales and service on many hearing aid products and accessories. These include batteries, TV Ears, hearing aid cleaning kits, custom ear plugs and more. Some of the custom ear plugs we can provide you with include: Sonic Valve Ear Plugs, High Frequency, Solid Ear Plugs, Magnum Ear (ITE), Sleeping Ear, and Magnum Ear (BTE) plugs.

Hearing Aid Types:
Completely-In-The-Canal (CIC)
Custom made devices seated deeply in the ear canal. They are barely visible and although this makes them a popular choice, they are not suitable for those with very narrow or small ear canals.
In-The-Canal (ITC)
Hearing aids are made with a custom-formed shell worn in the ear canal. While visible, their small size makes them discreet.
In-The-Ear (ITE)
Hearing aids are made with a custom-formed shell in the outer ear. They are considered easy-to-use, even for those with limited manual dexterity.
On-The-Ear (OTE)
Hearing aids worn on the ear are comfortable, small and lite. They are designed to keep the ear canal open, thus giving a more natural sound quality..
Behind-The-Ear (BTE)
Hearing aids, worn behind the ear, are considered the most durable. Some models are even waterproof. Their housing allows them to hold more circuitry and to provide greater sound amplification.
